CAVEMAN ROOFING ROCKS! They helped us in a time of need. They were personable, professional, fair price, on time, and an answer to our prayers! We love you Caveman Roofing!

I have asked for my money refunded for the poor slop fix-job that did nothing to fix the leak. Some leak Consultant! I had the leak fixed by Chris Smith Roofing who seems to be the best roofer I ever met. Chris knows what to look for and how to fix it when he finds it without destroying you roof.

I got another roofer to come out. We found out that the tin placed in was done incorrectly as the shingles on top half of the transition tin are too short and the water probably runs to the over lap of the tin just helping the leak. And as for the water above at the rafters, I found that when I pulled the ridge cap off that the shingles don't make it to the top and I can see and inch width of felt ; no over lapping of the front and rear shingle at the peak.

I called Marty and he came out and charged me $65 to clean out a few pine needles blaming that on the leaks. It rained and again leaks. Marty returned and for $135 he put tin in the edge of the transition pitch change. It rained and again leaks. I called him and now he told me the only thing to do was roll roof over top of my $4750, 30 yr dimentional shingles. That should sure be beautiful.

Although I find Marty to be a "nice: guy I feel he doesn't know much about roofing. If it's a simple job I wouldn't want him. Had I not been looking for the old pipe I guess I would have found the leaks when my roof caved in. It cost me $690 to fix the transition pitch edge and to re-do the top row of shingles (both sides) and cap.

I asked Marty of Caveman Roofing to refund the 200 bucks spent on his inability to find and fix the leak but he has refused. So I am posting the pictures (see heading of more photos) of his so-called remedy, which did not work. Do you see the nail heads on the tin? Some roofer, Marty the Owner himself did this! Do you want to end up with your house looking like this for $4750 plus another $200, if not DO NOT HIRE CAVEMAN ROOFING.

I have a gambrel (barn-style) roof. Three and a half years ago(2007) Marty did a complete asphalt shingle roof job for me, $4750.00. This spring 2011, I was interested in possibly putting in a wood stove. My wife thought we had left a double wall stainless stove pipe inside the cubby hole where the gambrel roof is blocked off behind the bathroom. I had removed the old woodstove in 1998 when we bought the house. Upon opening up that cubby hole I discovered a world of leaking water from the underside of the roof. It appearently had been leaking for the entire time since 2007 when Marty had roofed our house. Then crawling in the roof attic there I found more evidence of water running down at the rafters and black looking mold or something. The major leak and still very wet was at the pitch transition.
