Other reviewers have said, “they are so friendly there”… I would have to say that friendly incompetence is still incompetence.
Obviously, I found someone else to do the crown.
My own wonderful dentist of about 25 years recently retired and I needed to find someone new and local – I had been traveling back to Sonoma county in California after I moved to the Applegate for treatment for years until he retired. ☹ I went to Ms Johnson for very intense mouth pain affecting all the left side and which was also was giving me migraine level headaches. After an exam, in which she seemed to have a hard time figuring out what was causing the problem, and based on a comparison of x-rays from my old dentist and ones they took she concluded that a very vague anomaly was the cause and that an upper tooth (#14) was the likely culprit. She recommended me to the specialist next door to her, to do a root canal on that tooth. There was no further follow up by her or her office even though the first appointment I could get with the specialist was a week out. She did not prescribe anything to help with me the very intense pain or, more importantly, an antibiotic… most issues leading to a root canal are infection based. They didn’t even mention my coming back for a crown after the root canal; if I hadn’t been through the process before (with only a small fraction of the pain I was currently experiencing) I wouldn’t have even known to set that up. There was zero guidance by them – my last doctor coordinated all the appointments and so I expected the same thing here, quite in error.

I love getting my dental work done in that office everyone is super friendly ,helpful, and very clean . Dr Johnson is very kind and caring .
This is the best dentist office in town . I always recommend this office to everyone , especially people with dental anxiety. They make you feel like your visiting good friends.
Staff is friendly and compassionate. Dr. Johnson took time to explain things in a courteous and informative manner. New innovative technologies! I love the fancy equipment, so cool! Just in the first intake visit Dr. Johnson buffed away the stains on my two front teeth for a more "spicy" smile. I loved it! Thank you again, Allen Creek team!
The appointment with the specialist was on a Tuesday, exactly a full week after seeing Johnson, so I toughed it out during the week but then over the weekend the condition seemed to get nothing but worse… thank goodness I had some stronger painkillers on hand left over from a previous root canal only 6 months earlier. By Monday morning the pain was skyrocketing and now my lip and chin were going numb and my left throat was swollen (due to infection). I communicated with my old dentist and he said I needed “to be seen ASAP” so I did something I’ve never done… I went to a doctors’ office (the specialists) without an appointment and was there when they opened for the day – I was that desperate. Since another patient had less of a procedure than what was scheduled they were actually able to do the root canal that morning, a day earlier than scheduled.
And… to top it all off I see that TWO reviews of her on Google with 4 stars were left by 2 different EMPLOYEES, Tisa Wells and Hannah Brotherton (Han B). What a racquet!
However, now I’m faced with still more pain due to the advancement of the infection that Ms Johnson did not treat or seek to prevent. She also MISDIAGNOSED which tooth was the problem; turned out to be lower tooth, #18. For her misdiagnosis and lack of follow-up care I was charged $199.50. There’s nothing I resent more than paying someone who makes my problems worse. Also, I did hear her mention to the front desk person to “make sure I get the referral [fee]” from the specialist. I guess I know where her priorities really are.
Steer clear!!!!
I have been seeing Dr. Michelle Johnson for several years now that I am living in Grants Pass, Oregon. I just went in for one of my twice a year cleanings and couldn't be more pleased with the quality of care and the results I am experiencing, especially with my gums. As is typical, the hygienist took extra time to answer my questions and keep me on the right track. Every time I leave Dr. Johnson’s office I feel confident that I have received the very best dental care and advice to be found, period. It is so nice to finally have a dentist I feel I can trust and have confidence in. Thank all of you there so much! I constantly refer people to you.
